Salvation
Forgiveness of Sins and Everlasting Life
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
The person that believes in Jesus Christ is not judged because Jesus has taken our judgment upon Himself, but the person that does not believe is judged already because he must bear his own judgement. Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
The person that believes has eternal life, life that will never end, because he has put his trust in Jesus Christ. The person that does not believe is still dead in his sins, and God is angry with him. Eph 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
The person that believes in Jesus Christ already has eternal life and is not judged because he is totally accepted and forgiven by God. That person is also no longer dead to God, but he is alive and has eternal life.Col 2:13-14 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
All believers in Jesus Christ have eternal life, which is the will of God the Father, and Jesus Christ Himself will raise him up.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Jesus Christ made this statement, and He began the statement by saying ”Verily, verily”, this means it is a sure thing. The person who believes in Him has everlasting life.
Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
We inter into grace by faith in Jesus Christ and we continue in grace by faith in Him; therefore, we are able to rejoice knowing that our salvation is based on grace, not works.
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
The person that has faith in Jesus Christ, is justified in God’s sight; therefore, he has peace with God. To be justified means to be made righteous, to be without sin in God’s sight.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The person that believes in Jesus Christ has been placed into Him by the Holy Spirit. John 17:20-21 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. The person who is in Christ Jesus is not condemned. The person who is in Christ Jesus cannot be condemned unless Jesus Christ Himself is condemned. Since it is impossible to condemn God, it is also impossible to condemn the person who is in Him.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
God is the only one who has the right to condemn anyone. If Jesus Christ died so the believer would not be condemned and now intercedes for the believer; there is therefore no one left to condemn the one for whom Jesus Christ died.
I Jn 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
A person has the Son of God and life eternal if he believes in Jesus Christ. The person that does not believe does not have the Son, and does not have life eternal.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
The person that does not reject Jesus Christ, but instead receives Him by believeing in Him, has the right to become a child of God.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
We can only please God by faith, that is, by believing in Him and believing His word.
I Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
God has given us His word that tells us all we need to know about Jesus Christ; so that, we may know that we have eternal life through believing in Him.
Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Salvation is a gift of God to the person who has faith to believe in Jesus Christ, but not only is salvation a gift, the faith to believe is also a gift. It is by grace; that is, it is totally undeserved. Grace is a favor; it is not earned, but it is given freely even when the person who receives it deserves otherwise. Because salvation is all by grace through faith and is also a gift of God, no one can boast that he deserves to be saved.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God loved us so much that He gave His only Son to die for us, to make atonement for our sins. Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Our sins were placed on Christ. 2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. We have the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Jesus Christ even became a curse for us when He was crucified in our place. Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. God is not angry at us because we have been justified by the blood of Jesus Christ; the Son of God did not come to judge us but to save us.
To have all your sins forgiven, to be totally accepted by God, and to know you are on your way to heaven, all you need to do is to put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
All Scripture taken from King James Bible* Bible Studies by Max Swan
Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.
