Seeking For God

All reject God nevertheless God chooses to save some.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The only way anyone can be pleasing to God is first believe that He does exist and secondly seek to know Him. Those who truly seek to know God will be rewarded, that is, God will reveal Himself to them. God does not hide Himself from anyone who truly seeks to know Him.

Ps 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Those who seek after the Lord will find the Lord, and they will put their trust in Him because He is faithful to reveal Himself to those who seek for Him.

Prov 2:3-5 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Those who pray to the Lord for discernment and understanding, and seek for it as for treasure will discover the fear of the Lord and the knowledge of God. True knowledge begins with the knowledge of God.

Prov 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

The Lord reveals Himself to all those who seek to know Him, and He does not reject anyone who truly seeks to know Him. The Lord loves all those who love Him.

Isa 55:6-7 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The unrighteous are invited to repent from their wicked ways and to turn to the Lord for forgiveness. Unbelief is the greatest form of wickedness, but the Lord will not reject the wicked if they will repent of their unbelief and seek Him.

Rom 1:18-21 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

God has revealed Himself to everyone through His creation, but many have rejected the testimony of creation. Many simply refuse to believe in God even though they know that He does exist, and often it is those who are the most educated who are the biggest fools. Therefore, God is angry with those who refuse to believe in Him even though they have the testimony of all of creation declaring the existence of God. Ps 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. The awesome, complex, and orderly movement of everything in the heavens demands that it was all designed by a Creator, but men refuse to believe the testimony that God has given to them in His creation.

Rom 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

The only righteous human being who ever lived was Jesus Christ. Apart from Christ no one is righteous, no one understands God, and no one seeks for God. It is only because of what Jesus Christ has done on our behalf that we can come to know God. It is only because of the working of the Holy Spirit in our hearts that we seek to know God and to be pleasing to Him. No one deserves to be saved and no one would ever be saved if left to himself. Because we are all so totally sinful, we are all totally dependent upon the working of God for our salvation.

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ believes because he has been ordained to believe. None of us would ever believe unless God had appointed us to believe because we are all so wicked. No one knows why God appoints some and not others, but there is not one unbeliever who truly seeks after God.

1 Cor 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

It is only by the grace of God that anyone is ever saved, and it is only by the grace of God that anyone serves Him. The Lord deserves all the credit for all that we accomplish through Him.

Phil 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

We desire to live for the Lord and we serve the Lord because He is at work in us, giving us the desires to do so. Everyone who does the will of God in their life, does so only because the Lord is at work in us giving us the desire to do so; therefore, only He deserves all the glory for all that we accomplish through Him.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God called each of us for His purpose and He causes everything in our lives to work out for our good according to the purpose of His calling, that we might learn to love Him as He loves us.
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

God called us to Himself because He chose to love us, we did not chose Him. Jesus Christ said Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. That is true for everyone who believes in Him; there is not one Christian who ever chose to believe in Jesus Christ. He chose each of us and drew us to Himself; we did not seek Him of our own initiative. He not only chose us but He also appointed us to do His will. He makes our lives fruitful and He answers our prayers because He chose to love us and to bless us according to His will not ours.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Everyone who comes to Jesus Christ will be accepted by Him, He will not reject anyone who comes to Him; nevertheless, it is only because we have been given to Him, by His Father, that we come to Him.
Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord, who believes in Jesus Christ, will be saved. The Lord will not reject anyone who seeks for Him; He will save everyone who believes in Him, who ask Him for forgiveness of sins.

Rom 10:12-13 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

All who call upon the Lord will be saved. The Lord will not reject even one sinner who seeks for Him. If you recognize that you are a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of your sins, you can be forgiven, and you can be saved; He will not reject you.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Anyone and everyone who believes in Jesus Christ will be saved. Not one believer will ever be rejected.

Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.
