Only One Way
Jesus Is The Only Way
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We did not love God, but God loved us and gave His Son to die for the forgiveness of our sins. Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ will not perish, not go to hell, but have everlasting life. Our salvation is all of God’s doing from beginning to end, and it is ours by simply believing in Jesus Christ..
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the only way to God, there is no other way. Believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to get into heaven; no one can get into heaven by being faithful to any particular religion, by being sincere, by doing good works, by repentance of sin, by committing their life to Christ, by asking Jesus into their heart, etc. Good works will always be the result of salvation, it is never the means to salvation.
Matt 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The way to heaven is narrow, and only a few will find the narrow way. The way to hell is wide, and many are on that way. The whole world is on the wide way, on the way that leads to hell; therefore, everyone needs to repent, change direction, go from the wide way to the narrow way.
To repent means to change your mind or purpose, to make a one hundred and eighty degree change in direction. To repent simply means to turn away from whatever it is that you believe and to put your faith in Jesus Christ and in Him only, to stop your unbelief and to start believing.
True repentance involves turning away from sin, but it also involves turning away from good works, self-righteousness, religion, and anything else that may keep a person from trusting in Jesus Christ, and in Him only.
A person cannot go the path of life and the path of destruction at the same time. If you will accept Jesus Christ, by believing in Him, you will go from the path of destruction to the path of life. If you continue to reject Jesus Christ, by your unbelief, you will remain on the path of destruction.
When we are saved, by putting our faith in Jesus Christ, we change direction, from the path of destruction, to the path of life. Furthermore, once we are on the path of life we cannot return to the path of destruction, because eternal life is eternal.
Rom 3:10-18 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Many people may not like to admit it, but this passage is a description of all of us, before we became born again. We were all worthless, not one of us was worth saving, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” but God saved us by His grace, His unmerited favor towards us. We were all on the wide way to destruction.
Since no one was seeking for God and everyone was going away from God, we all needed to repent, to change our mind or purpose, to turn around and go in the opposite direction.
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
We are all sinners because we are all descendants of Adam; therefore, we were all on the wide way that leads to destruction, and to eternity in hell, until we believed in Jesus Christ.
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
No one can claim to be righteous, because God’s word says, there is no one who is righteous. Furthermore, no amount of good works, and no amount of religious activity can make up for our sins.
Gal 6:14-15 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
It is only by the cross of Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved. Jesus Christ took all our sins upon Himself when He went to the cross. As far as God is concerned when Jesus died we died, and that is why we can be forgiven for all our sins. Since the penalty for sin has been paid in full, God is now able to make each of us into a new creature, in Christ Jesus.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
All who receive Jesus Christ, by believing in Him, are born again as a result of believing in Him, and only as a result of believing in Him. Only God has the power to create, and only God has the power to make the believer into a new creature. Furthermore, when we are born again we receive all the birthrights that go with being children of God.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
The only way, to be able, to get into heaven is to be born again, and only God can make a person born again; therefore, we are totally dependent upon God for our salvation.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
We are totally dependent upon Jesus Christ for our salvation, and He is faithful to save all who believe in Him. He will not reject anyone who will put their faith in Him. Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved, and the way is available to all who will only believe in Him.
Eph 2:8-10 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are all saved the same way, by grace through faith; and it is not as a result of our own doing, but it is a gift from God. There is absolutely nothing anything can do to earn salvation; therefore, no one can boast that he deserves to be saved.
The good works that we do as Christians follows our salvation. God has planned for us to do good works, and so we do good works because we are saved, not in order to get saved.

Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD. (NAS) Jer 9:23-24
